For years the EDI system has served as the backbone for connecting businesses with their suppliers, partners and vendors. However, EDI systems bring with them a series of challenges:
- A new EDI connection can take 3 months to set up. If a business has to frequently onboard new partners this can be problematic as it's time-consuming and not particularly agile.
- EDI systems require dedicated communication between systems. In these current times where the focus is on doing more with less, these systems are increasingly being seen as an additional expense that requires a drain on people's time to maintain them.
- EDI data is stored and then transmitted, and therefore has limited use for real-time access and responsiveness.
Join us on February 22nd for a discussion over lunch at La Goccia where we will explore the options for migrating away from archaic EDI systems and the benefits it brings.
