Michael applies digital technology to solve the greatest challenges in the humanitarian, development and conservation sectors at scale. As a nonprofit leader, he is passionate about achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and addressing Climate Change through our shared Net Zero commitments. Working through consortia and convening sectors to deliver impact is his preferred approach to address the scale and resource constraints the 3rd sector faces. As the lead with the Salesforce International CxO industry practice for NonProfit Michael advises global Nonprofits on how best to leverage digital technology for their mission. Working with the UN and large Non-Governmental organisations Michael helps leadership teams successfully navigate digital transformation to increase measurable impact for their mission. Salesforce has the #1 industry solution set for non-profits with over 50k customers worldwide using Salesforce technology for impact. Before joining Salesforce Michael spent a decade in leadership roles in the Humanitarian sector. He was Global CIO with Oxfam, a large humanitarian organisation operating in 92 countries, headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. He helped drive the move to a new global operating model and built global shared services. The experience he brings from his time in the sector executing change in complex governance models of Confederated and Federated organisations. Michael served as secretary of the board with NetHope.org, a consortium of the 56 largest global nonprofits working in collaboration with the technology sector to respond to humanitarian crises. He has also served on national non-profit boards. Michael lives in Wicklow, Ireland and has a BSc in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin and an MBA with Smurfit School, UCD, Dublin.
